On occasion of my lovely daughter’s first birthday, I was looking for a simple cake recipe that could be ideal also for her to taste! 🙂

In the recipes’ book of my grandmother, though there are countless different pastries that are perfect for little children, I finally chose the Ciambella Cake!

It’s perfect if you have small children and is great at breakfast with coffee and milk. And here it is!

Ingredients to make the Ciambella Cake:

-400 gr of cake flour
-3 eggs
-200 gr of sugar
-1 glass of milk
-150 gr of melted butter
-zest of 1 lemon
-1 teaspoon of baking powder

How to make the Ciambella Recipe:

First of all beat well the eggs with the sugar, and then gradually add the butter, the flour, the lemon zest, and the milk. Work the mixture well and finally add the baking powder.

It’s better if you work the pastry by hand with a wooden spoon or similar, but if you’re in a hurry, simply use the mixer! It can be done in a minute!

Bake at 180 °C  (360 °F) for about 30 minutes.

Of course the Ciambella cake should have a hole in the middle!! I did not have the proper cake pan 🙂

My little Isabella was very happy to eat her first homemade cake! She loved it 🙂
