My friend and I will be visiting the Tuscany area (Florence, Siena, Pisa, etc) in October 2015. We would like to do olive oil and cheese tasting. Please make suggestions.

    Thank you.

      Ciao Cindy,
The best place to be for cheese tasting is definitely Pienza, enchanting hill town south of Siena. In addition to its beauty and its striking panorama, Pienza is home to the delicious pecorino cheese, a local speciality, that you can taste in the many shops in the historic center as well as in the many farms you see everywhere in the area. The Val d’Orcia, south of the city of Siena, produces fantastic cheese and olive oil. As for olive oil tasting, again are lots of farmhouses where you can just stop and taste. The same is true for the Chianti area northeast of Siena and south of Florence. You may also decide to stay directly at a charmig farmhouse in the countryside where you could enjoy both tasty cheese and high quality olive oil. This is the case of Borgo Lucignanello Bandini or Villa Vignamaggio for example. Both produce olive oil and can organize tours to farms producing cheese.
Let me know if you have any other question,
      Ciao from Florence 🙂
