Coming to Europe in September 2015. Starting in Greece for a week. Plan to then spend 4 or 5 days in Tuscany. Then finish in Rome for a week. Need advice on where to stay in Tuscany. Would like to stay in one place and travel out from there each day. Interested in a guide to take us out each day during our stay in the area. There will be 4 of us, two married couples. We are in our 60’s and like to move at a slow pace. We have very little knowledge of Tuscany

Considering you’re staying in Tuscany for 4 or 5 days, I can say that the best area to explore the region’s best sights and attractions is Chianti and this thanks to its beauty and its central location between Florence and Siena. Chianti is renowned for its beautiful countryside, verdant hills, endless vineyards, great food and fine wines! That’s the perfect spot to move at a slow pace.

Chianti is a great base to explore the best of Tuscany, from the same Chianti and its lovely hill towns, to other gems of Tuscany like Siena, San Gimignano, the Val d’Orcia…follow the link to see the complete list of the best day trips to make from Chianti.

Regarding your request for a private guide to take you out each day during your stay, I recommend Guide in Toscana, offering personalized tours by qualified and professional local guides.
