It’s grape harvest’s time in Tuscany! The countryside is even more beautiful and appealing in this period!

If you are a wine lover head on to Chianti in central Tuscany, one of the most famous regions in the all world for its great wine production!

Montefioralle village in Chianti

Follow the Chiantigiana road out of Florence and south to Siena, and you find yourself immersed in an area whose images and scenic landscapes are imprinted on the minds of anyone who thinks of Italy and Tuscany! Chianti is a great place to stay as a base in the heart of Tuscany.

Meandering along the white roads here is always a great pleasure, with countless vineyards and olive trees sitting side by side…

It’s right in the heart of the Chianti region, that stands Montefioralle, a suggestive tiny medieval village, that is certainly worth a visit!

A particularly scenic hamlet, that can be rightly considered amongst the most beautiful hill towns of Tuscany. Perched on a hill top, near the more popular Greve in Chianti, Montefioralle is a place of rare beauty, that offers an amazing panorama all over the surrounding beautiful countryside.

Time actually seems to have stopped here, being a typically medieval hamlet, with characteristic lovely houses facing narrow alleys in stone.

The village develops all around its majestic Castle or Cassero, and is enclosed by thick defensive walls, with remains of towers here and there.

A further reason to visit Montefioralle is that here it is produced some of the best wines of the region, the Montefioralle Chianti Classico, that you can taste at the Montefioralle Winery, a family-run winery that also organizes wine tastings and visits to the cellar.

If you happen to pass near the fabulous Chianti region, stop to drink some good wine at Montefioralle!

Thanks, Elena! We will be driving a car. Where do you suggest we park? And how much of a walk is it from the parking place to the town, itself?

We really want to see this gem and hope that our knees can take the climb!
