we are planning a trip end of Aug
Very confused how to allocate days
we are heading to Florence 8/27 and flying home from Rome 9/7
so thinking 4 days Florence
2 days Sam Gimignano
3 days Pienza
3 days resort called L’ Andana

Well, I think you’re changing places too often probably. My suggestion is you choose a maximum of 2 other locations in addition to the wonderful Tenuta l’Andana. I would plan your days this way:
-4 days in Florence, exploring Florence itself and taking day trips to Tuscany using public transportation, here some great day tours to choose from.
-5 days in San Gimignano or more near Siena from where to explore San Gimignano, Siena, the Chianti region, and the Val d’Orcia, including Montalcino and Pienza. Find my tips on making San Gimignano your home base in Tuscany and also my suggestions from day trips to make from Siena.
-3 days resort Tenuta La Badiola in Maremma
You may well also plan to stay 2 days in San Gimignano and 3 days in Val d’Orcia, that mainly depends on you, and if you’re willing to add a further base to your vacation! If yes, definitely do that!
