Honeymoon Week in Italy

Planning a honeymoon trip next year (Late August/Early September) and want to sandwich a week in Tuscany in between Rome Venice.  Not sure if we should have a single base or divide it up to 2 or 3 places.  Goal is to see the famous places (Florence) from there are open to a little beach/small town/wine country activity.  Very flexible with car or trains (we will most likely train from Rome to Florence and from Florence to Venice).  Mid range budget so any suggestions would be welcome.  Great blog and source of information.  Thanks.

Ciao!
I’m happy to give some advice for your special occasion next year
The train is recommended from Florence to Venice, and also from Rome to Florence, though you may even take into consideration the possibility to rent a car in Rome and go north passing through some great sights.
Apart when in Florence, the car is always recommended to explore Tuscany and its scenic countryside. After visiting the wonders of Florence you may move down to discover the countryside, and start explore Chianti and also the beautiful San Gimignano, that can be a good place as your next base.
Locanda Viani or Locanda dell’Artista are great places to stay in the area. Then go and visit the amazing Siena and then head down to visit the wonders in Val d’Orcia, where you could 2 nights; Relais la Saracina is simply enchanting. Chianti, San Gimignano, and Val d’Orcia are the most famous wine producing areas of Tuscany.
Finally, as you mention the beach and the wine, you may opt for Bolgheri, a charming hill town near the coast, famous for its fine wine and cypress lined road. Another option at the sea can be the splendid Monte Argentario in southern Tuscany.
I gave you some places to look at, get back to me for any further question,
Have a nice day,
