Help planning a short trip to Tuscany on motorbike of 3-4 nights

Hi there, we are travelling to Tuscany by the end of this month. We plan to take a motorbike then we have only 1 day trip around Tuscany till the ferry to Sardinia, we will stay in Sardinia for 4 nights, and then on the way back we will stay 2 more nights around Tuscany. I would be happy for any advise on what to focus which areas and where to sleep (we can split to 2 different areas as the first time is when we rent the bike and then 1 night and a whole day after, and on the way back from Sardinia 2 nights in another place). We less interested in culture… we would like to see nice landscapes and villages along with nice cute city vibes and markets. Tuscany is so big and I don\’t know what to choose as we don\’t have much time. In addition I wanted to ask if this time of the year… on the road, there will be no green landscapes at all (as I see in all the pictures)? Thanks,Shiri

Hi,
thanks for your message.
Don’t worry for the green landscape, there is plenty! and this month, for now, has had higher temperatures than usual and all sunny days.
As you’d like to see nice landscapes and villages along with nice cute city vibes and markets, there are 2 areas i highly recommend: Chianti and San Gimignano, and the Natural Park of Val d’Orcia.
Chianti, between Florence and Siena, is famous for being one of the most important wine producing areas of Tuscany. Here the landscape is very green with forests, high hills, and nice villages.
San Gimignano, in western Chianti, is renowned for its medieval towers and its green and scenic landscape.
The Val d’Orcia is different and maybe even more scenic with its soft hills and amazing hill towns. This area is also popular for its fine wines, like the Brunello of Montalcino.
In San Gimignano I recommend Locanda Viani or Hotel Antico Pozzo.
For Chianti these are my suggestions, and for accommodations in Val d’Orcia take a look here.
Finally here are some scenic drives through Tuscany.
Have a great holiday,
elena
