Day Trips from Montecatini
The last half of October I will be staying for a week in Montecatini. What towns or areas can you recommend for exploring?

The lively thermal town of Montecatini Terme can be a good base especially to explore the northern part of Tuscany. And here follows the list of the best day trips you might take staring from Montecatini:
-the beautiful Garfagnana area and its mountains
-Pisa, the city of the Leaning Tower
-Lucca, enchanting medieval walled town
-The lovely hill towns of Collodi, Montecarlo di Lucca, and Buggiano Castello
-Pistoia, smal but charming town
-Florence
-Vinci, where Leonardo da Vinci was born
-Chanti area (over 1 hour distance)
Other stunning destinations in Tuscany like San Gimignano, Volterra and Siena will take over 1 hour and 15 minutes time.
If you like driving you can well reach all these fantastic sights.
