Itinerary with private driver from Rome to Siena. We are going to be a party of 8 adults driving from Rome to Siena. I need to tell the driver where we want to go on the trip. We will have him for about 8 hours. What route do you suggest we take. My second question is that once we are in Siena (we are staying in a farm house a 15 walk to Siena called Borgo Grandaie) we will have two full days to visit the best towns. We would like to take two tours. One to visit the best little towns including wine tastings and great lunch and the second day perhaps a great cooking class with wine, cheese etc. Please can you give me suggestions of who I should use for touring. Many thanks, Cathy
A driving itinerary from Rome to Siena is full of striking places to admire. The fisrt amazing sights you meet on the border between Lazio and Tuscany are the wonderful and suggestive villages of Orte, Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio and the Bolsena Lake.
Civita is particularly incredible, and I speak about it in this list of the most beautiful villages and hill towns to see in Italy.
Then, if you tell your driver to run on the Via Cassia from Rome to Siena, be sure to find many more attractions, as you’re going to cross the Val d’Orcia area with its unique territory and incredible small hill towns.
This road trip from Rome to Siena lists all you could visit on your way. Take a look so to have an idea and make a decision on what to visit on your journey.
As for what to visit in two full days from Siena, have a look at my suggested day trips from Siena. While, for a good tour company I recommend Palio Tours, local agency based in Siena.
Feel free to post any more question,
