How would you plan a 20 day trip to include Tuscany and the Amalfi coast?
After too many years to mention we have 20 days to return to Italy. In a perfect world we would visit Tuscany (adding a few days in Venice for the Biennale) and the Amalfi coast . Can you help us to design a wonderful itinerary?? Thank you
thanks for coming here!
A 20 day trip to Italy? wonderful 🙂
Venice, Tuscany, and the Amalfi Costal are all fantastic destinations and I include them in my suggested tour of Italy, take a look.
With the number of days at your disposal, you will have the opportunity to really visit a lot of Tuscany.
How are you moving from one place to the other? From Venice to Florence in Tuscany I would take a fast train and then rent a car after leaving Florence to explore all the fantastic Tuscan sights.
In addition to the most popular and obvious attractions of Tuscany, I would also add some lesser known and less visited destinations like the amazing towns of Pitigliano, Sorano, and Sovana to the south of Tuscany.
I would spilt your time in Tuscany choosing 2 different bases to stay, possibly the first in the area of San Gimignano, and the second south of Siena in the splendid Val d’Orcia park.
So, I would first visit Florence (1 night there if you wish) then rent a car and move to the wonderful San Gimignano from where to explore the nearby areas and Chianti. Then reach Siena passing from Monteriggioni, and finally head to Val d’Orcia and from there also explore the area of Pitigliano.
This one week itinerary can give you an idea of all the sights to visit.
Are you then reaching the Amalfi Coast by car? let me know so I can suggest some sights to see along your way.
I remain at your disposal,
