Hi! I am planning a trio to Florence / Tuscany as a birthday present to myself in November. I would like some help in what are the best attractions to visit and info on romantic acommodations for 2…fireplaces, cozy, type atmosphere…bed and breakfasts are fine. Is November a good time to visit, or should we consider alternative dates? How long is adequate to stay for a nice, romatic vacation? We planned at least 5 days to a week. We also want to take in attractions in Florence and surrounding areas nearby.
Please help. We look forward to your advise and tips.
Hi! I’m glad to help 🙂
A trip to Tuscany is a great birthday present!
When to visit Tuscany? all the seasons have their charm, but actually in November days are shorter, so I’d recommend September-October, or, even better, during spring time. Here is some info on the weather in Tuscany. I’d recommend you stay for a week, so you can have time to visit some of the best Tuscan sights and pass a romantic vacation. I suppose you’d like to stay in the beautiful historical center of Florence, that is very romantic!
Here are my suggestions on romantic accommodations for 2 in the hearth of Florence:
–N4Guesthouse is a chic B&B full of romance.
Other chic accommodations in Florence here. Florence is full of attractions, amazing works of art, suggestive streets and hidden corners, artisans’ workshops, fashion shops, events… all you need is there. The scenic Piazza della Signoria is enchanting, the loggia dei Lanzi, Palazzo Vecchio, the Gallery of Uffizi, and then the beautiful Ponte Vecchio with its jewelleries shops, the romantic walk on the Lungarni. Piazzale Michelangelo is one of the most romantic places in Tuscany 🙂
Here is a guideline to Florence Top Attractions, that can help you guide on what to visit.
The surroundings of Florence are all to discover, here is a list of the best day trips to make from Florence and the way how to reach them. Fiesole offers a fantastic view on the Renaissance town.
As you’re staying in Florence’s historic center, you can easily move using public transportation. Most of the best sights of Tuscany can be easily reached by train: Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Cortona. For other destinations like San Gimignano and the Chianti region, I’d suggest you consider a tour.
