Perched on a spectacular hill-top in the heart of Val d’Orcia, stands the delightful medieval village of Monticchiello, a real gem of Tuscany. Monticchiello is a beautiful fortified little hamlet offering a spectacular vista over the Renaissance city of Pienza, renowned for its delicious pecorino cheese and for the beauty of its historical center.

The landscape here is one of the most beautiful and suggestive of all Tuscany.

La Casa di Adelina in Monticchiello can be the right choice to explore the wonderful province of Siena and the exceptional sights of the magical Val d’Orcia area south of Tuscany.

Charming Rooms and Apartments with a View

La Casa di Adelina is located in an ancient historical residence dating as far as the 14th century, and has lovely rooms in typical Tuscany style, with wooden ceilings, antique family furniture, and wrought-iron beds.

The atmosphere is very romantic; each room will enchant you with a wonderful view over the village square or the stupendous Pienza and its surrounding weaving hills. Wi-fi and iPad will make your stay even more comfortable.

An Irresistible Breakfast

In the morning, a delicious breakfast will await you! You’ll be pervaded by the scent of freshly baked pastries, homemade cakes, coffee, cappuccino, and other Tuscan delicacies.

Try La Casa di Adelina cakes’ recipes and taste a piece of Tuscany:-) I’ve tried the recipe for the Torta Variegata al Cioccolato and it came out great!

To have lunch and taste traditional Tuscan products, head on to La Guardiola, the B&B’s lounge bar, with a garden and a terrace offering a breathtaking panorama.

La Casa di Adelina is an intimate bed and breakfast that feels like home 🙂 Try the experience of living in the heart of an ancient and characteristic medieval hill town in one of the most beautiful corners of Tuscany!

Hello Elena- we are traveling to Tuscany next year in October and want to stay in a B and B or Agriturismo offering breakfast for 4-5 days to explore the area. Before this we will be in Cinque Terra and Florence . After this Tuscan stay we will travel on to Positano and back to Rome .
We want to base ourselves somewhere where we can explore . We love scenery / I love markets and shops. We love eating !!!! Good food and great coffee. We sadly do not drink so the grapes are not a big necessity. Can you recommend a villa, town etc to base ourselves.

Dear Paula, Thanks a lot for contacting me! Your itinerary is a great one! I suppose you’re traveling by car, that is actually the best way to explore Italy 🙂
Considering that before you’re staying in Florence, I highly recommend you go for the wonderful Val d’Orcia area south of Siena, that is probably the most beautiful part of Tuscany for its scenic landscape, picturesque hill towns, stunning views, and exceptional local food! The Val d’Orcia is a dream! I love it! Pienza, Bagno Vignoni, San Quirico d’Orcia, Montalcino are just some of the spectacular hamlets of the area.
I’m giving you the following options for special b&b and accommodations in places that are a very good so use as a home-base to explore the best sights and attractions of Tuscany:
Il Loggiato is a very charming and romantic B&B in a unique and peculiar hill town of Tuscany, Bagno Vignoni! The village is very tiny and here you may also enjoy its wonderful thermal springs.

La Casa di Adelina B&B is a special place to stay where to enjoy a great breakfast with homemade cakes and other delicacies. It is located in Monticchiello, little fortified medieval village with a stunning view over Pienza, the Renaissance town renowned for its delicious pecorino cheese and its excellent restaurants.

Using those B&Bs as your base you can start making day trips to all the nearby villages I mentioned, also including the wonderful Montepulciano, where you find enchanting shops!
In case you prefer staying in a larger town, you may opt for Siena, but the town center is a limited traffic area, so you will have to leave the car not right at your accommodation. However in case you prefer Siena let e know so that I can send proper accommodate suggestions for that as well. Have a nice day, elena.
