Looking for a very romantic hideaway in a unique and special place in Tuscany?

Well, Tuscany is an incredible region, so full of beautiful places, amazing locations, and dreamlike sceneries, that you’ll be really spoilt for choices!

Based on my personal experience, here I recommend very romantic hotels and properties in Tuscany, all very characteristic and beautifully set in extraordinary environments; no better way to pass unforgettable moments with your partner 🙂

Great accommodations, lovely bedrooms, intimate atmosphere, great food, stunning views, relaxing and restful ambience, extraordinary sceneries, special amenities, and much more…

1. Hotel Le Terme, Bagno Vignoni, Siena

That’s one of my favorite hotels in Tuscany, where I love to go at least twice a year!
Bagno Vignoni is an extraordinary and absolutely characteristic tiny medieval village to the south of Siena, between Montalcino and Montepulciano.
Right in the heart of the Val d’Orcia region and its flourishing nature, this extremely fascinating place is made even more special thanks to its hot and curative thermal waters, that you can admire in the large and scenic Renaissance pool.

Right facing the pool, this lovely 3 star Hotel in Bagno Vignoni is perfect for a romantic getaway. Comfortable rooms with incomparable view, a lot of facilities, like the 2 thermal pools and the spa, a good restaurant and bar, and all the privacy you wish.

To get even more privacy and independence, I suggest you book one of the two apartments adjacent to the hotel; the one on the ground floor is extremely cosy and has a nice garden on the back. Definitely an intriguing place to be:-)

2. La Melosa Resort, Roccastrada, Maremma

The secluded position of this 4 star resort amidst the wild nature of Maremma, makes it a great choice for a romantic stay.
The rooms of this eco-friendly hotel in Maremma, are all spacious and beautifully furnished, with pastel colours and painted walls; some also has a little private garden with a secondary entrance on the back.
The service is excellent and you can benefit from many facilities, like the wonderful pool, the spa, and the good restaurant. Breakfast is excellent, with a lot of local typical products, like the delicious jams and honey.
Completely surrounded by the unspoilt nature of the wonderful Maremma region, this special place makes you feel in complete harmony with the world.

I spent there just a weekend, but I would have stayed longer. I’ll come back for sure.

3. Osteria del Borgo, Montepulciano, Siena

If you love the medieval hill top towns of Tuscany, that’s the place to be!
Located in the very heart of the stupendous village of Montepulciano, next the scenic Piazza Grande, Osteria del Borgo Montepulciano, offers accommodation in lovely and totally independent apartments with wonderful view over the Tuscan countryside and its scenic hills.
We spent there some days last December and it was really a great stay!
We were in the very heart of one of the most beautiful villages of Tuscany, definitely an interesting experience!
We booked a beautiful and bright apartment with large windows offering a stunning panorama over the valley and the scenic Temple of San Biagio.
The kitchen is fully equipped but you can take advantage of the very welcoming osteria downstairs, with terrace and view, that serves exquisite local products accompanied by great wines. A place that feels like home 🙂

We loved to stroll in the narrow and ancient streets of the historical center, also at night, very romantic! From each corner of the city you get enchanting views. There are also many good restaurants serving great local specialties and the superb Nobile of Montepulciano wine.

4. Hotel San Simeone, Rocca d’Orcia, Siena

Probably the hotel in Tuscany with the best and most spectacular panorama all over the splendid landscapes of the Orcia Valley, to  the south of Siena.
Located in the scenic village of Rocca d’Orcia, perched on a steep rocky promontory, and near magnificent hill towns like Montalcino, Montepulciano, and San Quirico d’Orcia, this wonderful complex offers lovely rooms and suites furnished with great attention to details.
The panorama you get from the hotel’s beautiful terrace is incredibly vast and breathtaking, and you can fully enjoy it while having your breakfast in the morning.
A suggestive place full of peace and silence, perfect if you are looking for privacy and relaxation, no better choice for a romantic vacation.

Unfortunately Hotel San Simeone is now closed for renovation, but I really hope it will open again very soon.
It’s one of those very special places one always wishes to visit again and again.

5. Il Falconiere Relais, Cortona, Arezzo

This luxurious countryside Relais is located near the splendid Etruscan town of Cortona, and is surrounded by scenic hills, fields, gardens, vineyards and olive groves.
A secluded place full of charm and privacy, ideal for a romantic escape!
The rooms and suites are very elegant and welcoming, characterized by frescoes, antiques, and loomed fabrics; the atmosphere is really charming.
You can visit the wonderful town of Cortona during the day and then have a reinvigorating bath in one of the 2 beautiful swimming pools of the Relais, or relax completely at the fantastic spa and wellness center; finally end up the day with an exquisite dinner at very good restaurant of the hotel.  That’s the ideal choice if you are looking for a more exclusive stay in Tuscany.

The list does not follow any order of preference, all hotels and accommodations are worth the stay and have something particular, charming and intriguing at the same time 🙂

And what about you? Any romantic place you have a particular affection for?

Which place would you suggest for an intimate retreat?
